Therapeutic Counselling
About me and the service I offer:
My name is Sophie Turner and I have counselled, trained and mentored since 1998 in a variety of roles and environments. In addition to counselling, I enjoy playing and singing music and creating art. That's enough about me, counselling is about you and how I can help you.

I offer one-to-one secular therapeutic counselling for adults. This can be short or long-term, online or by phone (currently I'm not offering face to face sessions due to Covid19).
I work with people who experience a wide range of issues including depression, anxiety, loss and bereavement. You might engage with me because you have a feeling of hopelessness, despair or sadness. You might have troubled relationships, have suffered loss, or are experiencing eco-anxiety.

I offer a confidential and non-judgmental space to explore your issues. Working together we can identify what you would like to gain from the work. We could use the time to work out why you are feeling the way you are. In our sessions we might talk about where your problems originate and how this impacts on your life and relationships now.
This is your counselling; you lead our conversations, at your own pace, and you might find your way to a clearer and happier future.

I use the Petrüska Clarkson 5-relational framework in which I integrate person-centred and psychodynamic theories. This means the relationship between you and I form the foundation of our work together. Your wellbeing is of utmost priority, you are at the heart of everything we do. We might work together in exploring what's going on in the here and now and how events in the past might have impacted your present.
